This is a great experience, must do if you are in the area, excellent for couples. The rooms are elegantly restored, keeping original materials for the most part, mixing it with luxurious furniture.

Once you pass through the archway of the village of Santo Stefano di Sessiano, you step back in time and are catapulted into the Middle Ages. The hotel maintains this feeling; every detail has been carefully considered, from the wooden bed to the beeswax candles. The bathroom is very comfortable and equipped with a bidet; there's no shower, but instead, there's a beautiful bathtub in the room. Breakfast (very good and plentiful) follows the same theme, offering typical Abruzzo products. The staff was very kind and attentive. Unfortunately, the only negative note occurred during dinner. The waiter who took our order was unprofessional and inattentive. Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't add anything extra to the hotel. Overall, it's an experience I would recommend, especially to those with a passion for medieval history.

We spent one night at the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso in Santo Stefano di Sassanio, primarily to experience the town at night and hike to Rocca Calascio the next morning. Arriving to the town by car, we had no issues finding parking, and only had small bags when checking in. The room was an experience to say the least with a locally made wool mattress and bedspread and antique furniture. The bathroom was modern and included a bidet. The tub was very large and we enjoyed a soak before bed. WiFi worked fine and there were outlets conveniently tucked away by the bed and desk. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the property's restaurant and were overwhelmed by the abundance of local ingredients that were beautifully presented at both meals. While this was the smallest of the Borghi piu belli we visited in Abruzzo, it is certainly the most well known. Walking around before and after dinner, we felt like we had the fairytale town to ourselves. Leaving early for our hike, the front desk staff were kind enough to store our bags. When we returned around lunchtime, the town was swarming with day visitors and made us glad to have been able to enjoy a peaceful night there. Overall, an incredible experience!

Wake up every morning at 7:30 am because of restoration work (nice for the holidays) right next to our suite (Corte). Dark rooms, impossible to read, and with 2 windows obscured by the work. Toilet/bathroom area directly opening into one of the bedrooms without separation (odors, privacy, etc.)

Albergo diffuso in un borgo medievale molto suggestivo. Le camere sono arredate con mobili antici di recupero ad eccezione del bagno che ha uno stile minimal ma molto confortevole. Il letto è comodissimo e sono disponibili molti cuscini. Nelle camere non è presente TV ma non se ne sente assolutamente la mancanza. La colazione , molto buona, è ricca di prodotti tipici del territorio ( sia dolci che salati). Eccellente la professionalità della reception. Esperienza da ripetere.

Wonderful place for a getaway. Amazing location, the town is a gem, and a very cool and comfortable accommodation. The room is so medieval and so comfortable at the same time, it’s amazing. The bed was confortable, the view form the town or the suite (depending on which one you will be staying) was spectacular. The staff at abbetagio were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing, with local specialties and other nice stuff. Lots of tracking or just drives or walks to do around. Plenty of dining options. We had hard times leaving the place.
